Allen Davis Campaign for 23 JDC Judge - Division “E”
The Campaign For the 23rd Judicial District Court Judge- Division “E”
My name is Allen Davis and I am announcing my candidacy for the 23rd Judicial District Court Judge- Division “E” for the parishes of St. James, Ascension and Assumption.
I am currently a solo practitioner of law in Gonzales. Prior to opening my private practice in 2011, I worked for major law firms both in New Orleans and Covington, Louisiana.
In the 17 years of practicing law, I have handled a wide variety of cases, including criminal defense, corporate litigation, and toxic tort. In addition to my private practice, I am also a contract attorney with the Indigent Defender Board, the 40th JDC district attorney’s office where I represent the Parish of St. John The Baptist in civil litigation matters, and lastly the magistrate judge for the City of St. Gabriel, Louisiana.
I am proud of my experience as a seasoned attorney and will bring this strong work ethic to the bench if I am elected as district court judge.
I have been married to my wife, Kashanna, for over 20 years, and we have four wonderful children. I am a 17-year resident of Ascension Parish having been born in Monroe, Louisiana and raised in San Jose, California. I am a 1997 graduate of Southern University, and a 2005 graduate of the Southern University Law Center.
My passion for community is strong, and I am deeply committed to the development and well-being of our youth through sports and mentoring. I am the former vice-president of the Louisiana Fire youth basketball organization based in Gonzales, Louisiana that has coached and mentored several young men from all over the tri-parish area. Our organization has help to send dozens of young men from Ascension, Assumption & St James to college on both academic and athletic scholarships.
As District Court Judge my promise to the people of the 23rd Judicial District is this… to be fair, unbiased and to be respectful to all who come before the bench.
I was born in Monroe, LA, and raised in San Jose, CA when my parents moved our family there in 1983. I was educated in Baton Rouge, LA having attended Southern University (1997) and Southern University Law Center (2005). My family and I are 17 year residents of Ascension Parish by choice. I have served the needs of the people of Ascension, Assumption & St. James parishes since 2011.
For me it is about the purpose and the people; not about the power and politics.
We do not need a judge who will simply put on the robe and sit on the bench. We need a judge who will put on the robe and stand up for what is just and fair for all of the people of the 23rd Judicial District.
